 “So the whole John Smith story seems to be heating up, what on earth was going on with that dear child?” asked Enima, now sitting on the arm of Jemima’s chair as if she couldn’t get close enough to these two amazing mystic merpels.

“Well, as we have always said, things are not always what they appear to be and sometimes, they are exactly what they appear to be,” replied Jumble cryptically.

“What do you mean by that?” Enima asked looking as baffled as she felt.

“Well, sometimes one can make assumptions that can lead one up the garden path so to speak and sometimes down to Stinky Bottom. Gariana Listenalot taught us all a great deal about living in the question and not coming to any conclusions, and I think sometimes, as we were young, foolish and totally bullet proof, the conclusions we came to may have got us into trouble more than once.”
